Prenatal Chiropractic FAQ's

01

What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment used during pregnancy to reduce tension in the pelvis and surrounding ligaments. It's designed to support proper pelvic alignment, which can ease common pregnancy discomfort and help create optimal conditions for baby to move into position for birth. Dr. Sara is certified in this technique through the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association).

02

When should I start chiropractic care during pregnancy?

There's no single "right time". Some patients start as soon as they find out they're pregnant, while others come in once discomfort begins, often in the second or third trimester. Because your body changes every week, earlier care can help it adapt more comfortably as pregnancy progresses, but it's never too late to start.

03

What pregnancy-related conditions can chiropractic care help with?

Common concerns we support include low back and pelvic pain, sciatica, round ligament pain, pubic symphysis discomfort, and general postural strain as your center of gravity shifts. Every pregnancy is different, so care is adjusted to what your body needs at each stage.

04

Is chiropractic care safe after delivery, and when can I start?

Yes. Postpartum chiropractic care can begin as soon as you feel ready, often within the first few weeks after delivery. Many patients find it helpful for recovering posture and alignment after pregnancy and birth, and for addressing new tension patterns that come with feeding, carrying, and caring for a newborn.

05

Can chiropractic care help with postpartum recovery specifically?

Pregnancy and childbirth place significant demands on your spine, pelvis, and core. Postpartum care focuses on restoring alignment, supporting pelvic floor and core recovery, and relieving the neck, shoulder, and upper back tension that often comes from nursing, pumping, and carrying a baby.

06

How long are appointments, and can I fit one into a workday?

Most visits are efficient by design, our first appointment includes a thorough intake so plan on 45 minutes. Follow-up appointments are typically 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the type of care. Let us know your schedule constraints, and we'll help you find a rhythm that works.

07

Can I bring my baby or kids to my appointment?

Yes, you're welcome to bring your little ones with you. We know finding childcare for every appointment isn't always realistic, especially in the early postpartum months.

08

Do you offer flexible scheduling for working parents?
