Your First Appointment
What to Expect
1.
Schedule Your Appointment
Your initial appointment will be longer than the follow-up appointments. Before your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a health history form.
When you schedule your appointment, your intake forms will be emailed to you.
2.
Complete Your Intake Forms
Before your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a health history form. Your first visit is primarily about gathering information to understand your health history, current condition, and wellness goals, to create a personalized and effective treatment plan.

Arrive 15 minutes early if your intake forms are not complete.
3.
Arrive for Your Consultation & Exam
Your initial appointment will be 30-45 minutes. At this appointment, you'll review your health history, current issues, and allow us to gain a clearer understanding of who you are and how we can best assist you.
4.
Your Treatment
Once there's a clear understanding of your goals, you may undergo postural or range of motion tests, neurological checks, or a hands-on assessment to evaluate tenderness, tightness, swelling, or misalignment (or subluxations). This is a collaborative session, so please share your thoughts on the discussion points. In some cases, you may be recommended for diagnostic imaging (like X-rays). If imaging is needed, this will be communicated within your session.
5.
Your Personalized Plan
Before you leave, you will receive treatment for your issues, and your Chiropractor will discuss findings and the recommended treatment plan in detail. This plan will outline a schedule or recommendation for a follow-up visit.

Phases of Treatments
At Align Chiropractic, your care should be more than a quick fix. Chiropractic works best when it follows a natural progression. Each phase of Chiropractic care builds on the last to restore function, reduce pain, and help you thrive in the long term.
Your personalized care plan is tailored to your specific healing needs. The duration of the phases of treatment varies for every body. When you commit to your full care plan, you are giving your body the best chance for long-term health.

1
Relief Care
Reduce Your Pain & Discomfort
You can expect more frequent visits at the start, as this helps to calm irritation, ease muscle tension, and restore basic movement. This stage is crucial because it provides the foundation your body needs to begin healing. While you might feel better, stopping care at this point often means the underlying issue remains, and symptoms are likely to return.
2
Corrective Care
Addressing the Root Cause
During this time, you can expect visits to be spaced out more as your body begins to stabilize. We may also introduce specific exercises, posture work, and lifestyle changes. This stage is crucial as it reconditions your muscles, joints, and nervous system, preventing old patterns of stress from resurfacing and promoting deeper, more lasting healing beyond simple symptom relief.
3
Wellness Care
Preventative Care
Maintenance visits will be scheduled. During this time, your body will begin to stabilize, allowing for fewer visits to the clinic. We may introduce exercises, posture work, and lifestyle changes to retrain your muscles, joints, and nervous system. This helps to prevent old patterns from returning. Patients who continue with wellness care often notice fewer relapses, better energy, and improved resilience.
